Meet the Team

Dr. McDaniel received her B.S. in Community Health Education from the University of Illinois in 1988 and her O.D. from Southern College of Optometry in 1992. She has practiced optometry in the Metro East for over 30 years. Dr. McDaniel is a member of the NeuroVisual Medicine Institute and International Academy of Low Vision Specialists.

Dr. McDaniel is married to Ray, and they have seven beautiful children. When she’s not seeing
patients, she enjoys sewing, knitting, and spending time with family

Born and raised in Troy, Illinois, Dr. Junge has always lived in the Metro East area. He is a graduate of McKendree University and University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. Dr. Junge loves helping patients see and treating a wide range of ocular diseases. A passion of his is pediatrics and working with families. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, escape rooms, board games, Bible studies, and playing with his cat.

Sandy grew up in Troy, Illinois, and holds a degree as a medical assistant. She has worked in the eye care field for 28 years—24 of those with Dr. McDaniel. She enjoys cooking, crafts, and travel.

Zarah (pronounced “Sarah”) has been with Mascoutah Eye Care since January 2025. After being diagnosed with an eye condition at a young age, she was inspired to be a part of helping others see better and live more fulfilled lives through quality vision care. When she’s not at the office, Zarah enjoys getting outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her husband Tim and hound dog Luna

Lisa joined the Mascoutah Eye Care team in July 2025. She grew up in Indiana but has lived in Mascoutah with her husband and four kids for more than 20 years and remains an active member of the community. In her spare time, she loves reading, hosting family hang-outs, and cheering on her grandkids at local sporting events.

Jamie joined the Mascoutah Eye Care team in January 2026. While this is her first position in the optical industry, she has a career background in business administration and office management. She is originally from Michigan and moved to the Mascoutah area in June 2025. Her husband has been active duty in the USAF for 15 years. Prior to Illinois, her family has been stationed in Maryland, Texas, Italy, and South Carolina. When Jamie is not working, you can find her around town, spending time with her daughters, cooking, baking, and traveling.
